Overview

The David-Kenneth Group is seeking to add a qualified Network Security Architect to its team of experienced data center migration professionals. 

 

The person in this role will provide technical support for project planning, development, and implementation.  You will be responsible for understanding a client's existing environment, designing target architectures, and hands-on implementation of designs. This person must be able to demonstrate broad network engineering experience in both design and deployment.  The qualified candidate must be able to install and configure Network architecture, provide optimized configurations plus be able to support existing; migrate the networks from the current production environment to the new data-center with no downtime. 

 

Data Center migration projects are mission-critical, come with inherent risks and are typically a once in a lifetime project for most organizations. That is why this position requires an individual with previous data center migration experience.

Responsibilities

  • Works with clients to define security infrastructure requirements for complex systems and infrastructure development.
  • Designs and oversees development and implementation of end-to-end integrated security infrastructure solutions.
  • Evaluates and helps clients select security technologies required to support security infrastructure solutions
  • Understands network and security industry standards and best practices
  • Engages with clients, builds a trusted relationship, and clearly understands the client’s requirements
  • Consult with peers and clients for migration best practices
  • Ensure that the operational staff has clearly documented support and operations instructions

Qualifications

Experience & Education Requirements:

  • The qualified candidate must have 7+ years of experience with assessments, project planning, network design and hands on implementation of network infrastructure solutions for highly visible/ large enterprise clients. 
  • Previous Network Design experience in data center migrations: relocations, colocations and consolidations projects. 
  • Previous Network Design experience with Data Center Interconnects (DCI), Leaf/Spine Fabric, and VLAN-Stretching (Cisco OTV/VXLAN). 
  • Able to advise clients and implement new technologies for high-level designs and monitor performance based on specified project requirements.
  • Demonstratable knowledge of the Cisco Nexus product line (9k, 7k, and 5k) and Cisco Catalyst switches.
  • Demonstratable knowledge of BGP and OSPF and experience with Dark Fiber, DWDM and MPLS.
  • Demonstratable knowledge in Network Security including NX-OS/IOS hardening and implementations of GRE, DMVPN and IPSEC tunneling.
  • In-Depth Knowledge of Network Architecture, demonstrated understanding of networking layer 2 and 3
  • Strong ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot complex technical issues
  • Network latency testing and mitigation
  • Circuit selection and sizing
  • Logical and physical network diagramming
  • Experience with Network auto-discovery tools

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with EVPN and VXLAN
  • Experience with Cisco ASR Series routers
  • Experience with Software Defined Networks
  • Experience with Firewalls
  • Experience with Load Balancing technologies
  • Experience with WAN optimization technologies
  • Experience with Cisco UCS
  • Experience with Cloud Services
  • Ability and discipline to work and succeed in a fast pace and organizationally complex environment, to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology, and to lead and manage small projects

  • Bachelors of Science (technology related) degree and/or equivalent experience

Additional Information

  • Ability to travel on short notice (approximately 25-33% 1wk/month average within continental US annually)
