Overview

The David Kenneth Group is seeking to add a qualified Network Security Engineer to its team of experienced data center migration professionals.  We specialize in data center transformations.  Our services include data center migrations, infrastructure and virtualization optimization, and advisory services for large enterprise clients. Due to high demand for our services, we are seeking to add a Network Security Engineer to our team.

 

Our typical engagements are relocations, mergers, consolidations, and modernizations lasting anywhere from 6 to 18 months. Data center migration projects are mission-critical and come with inherent risks. The qualified candidate must have previous experience with data center migrations, consolidations, and/or relocations.

Responsibilities

The Network Security Engineer develops security infrastructure solution specifications from business requirements and designs security solutions that support core organizational functions, and assure their confidentiality, integrity and high availability. A qualified candidate understands current network and security industry trends and emerging technologies, understands and evaluates complex business functions and processes, IT development methodologies, operation requirements and procedures. This position requires expertise in Check Point and F5 technologies to evaluate and help clients select technologies required to support security infrastructure solutions.

  • Works with clients to define security infrastructure requirements for complex systems and infrastructure development.
  • Responsible for designing, sizing and scaling network security infrastructure solution for various projects
  • Evaluates and helps clients select security technologies required to support security infrastructure solutions
  • Understands network and security industry standards and best practices
  • Engages with clients, builds a trusted relationship, and clearly understands the client’s requirements

Qualifications

Experience & Education Requirements:

  • Hands-on technical experience with internetworking/data center operations including LAN/WAN operations.
  • Hands-on technical experience preferred with internetworking/data center operations including WAN operations (e.g. DNS, Open SSL, Cryptography, virtualization, etc), Network Protocols, TCP/IP, OSI Model, UNIX or Linux (e.g. Redhat) operating systems, VMware or equivalent hypervisors and network hardware preferred. Potential for exposure to Network Security (e.g. Web Application Security, AAA, VPN, DDoS, Malware, Application Firewalls, etc)
  • Exposure to UNIX. Some experience with Linux, preferably Red Hat. Some exposure to VMWare or equivalent hypervisors preferred.
  • Knowledgeable in TCP/IP protocols and the OSI model
  • Proficient with Windows OS
  • Able to work under general instruction on routine work.
  • Evidence of building strong internal/external relationships; within a team environment preferred.
  • Analytical thinker with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent customer service skills together with experience supporting customers and service providers in production environments preferred.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently, including technical concepts and terminology.
  • Should be able to effectively relay technical information to customers of varying skill levels
  • Check Point Architecture Design experience (required)
  • Cisco Security Architecture Design experience (required)
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business field, or equivalent education and related training
  • Check Point Certified Security Expert (CCSE) required or Certified Security Master (CCSM) preferred
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) required
  • VMware VCP – Data Center Virtualization and/or Network Virtualization
  • Extensive F5 Technology Experience is required

  • Cisco Certified Security Professional (CCSP) preferred
  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) a plus
  • Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) a plus
  • Past telecommute experience
  • Past consulting experience

Additional Information   

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Full time/w Benefits
  • Ability to travel on short notice (approximately 25-33% or 1wk/month average within continental US annually)
  • Telecommute (but must be willing to support any U.S. time zone)
