David-Kenneth Group is seeking to add a qualified Senior Communication Specialist to its team of experienced data center migration professionals.  David-Kenneth Group specializes in data center transformations, and our core competency is data center migrations.  Due to high demand for our services, we are seeking to add a communication specialist to our team. 


Our typical engagements are relocations, mergers, consolidations, and modernizations lasting anywhere from 6 to 18 months.  Data center migration projects are mission-critical and come with inherent risks.  The qualified candidate must have previous experience in the IT services industry.  Experience with data center migrations, consolidations, and/or relocations is a plus.  The candidate must be a proactive team player with a dynamic personality comfortable working in highly available, fast-paced, client-intensive environments.


The person in this role will provide communications, documentation, editing, and overall as-needed support for project planning and management, development, and implementation.  You will be responsible for understanding a client’s dynamic needs and translating highly technical information into digestible communication and documentation for the client.  The candidate must be independent, proactive, and comfortable working in small teams with similarly elite personnel. 


The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate a broad understanding of the communication discipline and technical documentation needs and to independently analyze and design tailored communication plans and deliverables.  This is not a position for which you will be trained.  


Job Specs

  • Travel 30% (Approximately 1 week per month on average) 
  • Telecommute but must be willing to support any U.S. time zone 


Key Qualifications 

This position requires experience with: 

  • Development, maintenance and execution of robust, client-specific communication plans 
  • MS Office 2007 and later (with a high level of expertise in both Word and PowerPoint) 
  • SharePoint 2007 and later with knowledge of site setup, permissions, Microsoft library, and list best practices 
  • Development of executive-level presentations 
  • Meeting facilitation including notes and follow-up on action items 
  • Project finance and status reporting 
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) 


Preferred Skills/Experience 

  • Ideally this candidate has people and project management skills 
  • Technical writing skills 
  • Change management skills  for managing process and program changes across an organization 
  • Data migration experience 
  • Past telecommuting background
