The David Kenneth Group is seeking to add a qualified Senior Communications Specialist to its team of experienced data center migration professionals. We specialize in data center transformations. Our services include data center migrations, infrastructure and virtualization optimization, and advisory services for large enterprise clients. Due to high demand for our services, we are seeking to add a Senior Communications Specialist to our team.

 

Our typical engagements are relocations, mergers, consolidations, and modernizations lasting anywhere from 6 to 18 months. Data center migration projects are mission-critical and come with inherent risks. The candidate must be a proactive team player with a dynamic personality comfortable working in highly available, fast-paced, client-intensive environments.

 

The Communication Specialist will be responsible for understanding a client’s needs and translating highly technical information into digestible communication and documentation for the client. The candidate must be independent, proactive, and comfortable working in small teams with similarly elite personnel. Responsible for driving Transition Management principles and methodology across client specific data center migration / consolidation projects. Develop communication plans and materials for specific initiatives to generate momentum and raise awareness; composing and distributing timely communication. In addition, lead and develop training materials to support change and transition and act as a content provider for training related to transition management.

 

The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate a broad understanding of the communication discipline and technical documentation needs and to independently analyze and design tailored communication plans and deliverables.

 

 

Experience Requirements      

  • 3 – 7 years of experience in technical communications and/or training documentation writing
  • Ability to maintain, track to robust, client-specific communication plans and deliver, meeting or exceeding deadlines. 
  • MS Office 2007 and later (with a high level of expertise in both Word and PowerPoint)  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word with basic knowledge of templates and compliancy. Familiarity with using paragraph styles with consistency.
  • SharePoint 2007 and later with knowledge of site list and library management principles.
  • Development of executive-level presentations in PowerPoint
  • Plan, document and distribute agendas, facilitate meetings, as well as take minutes with action items and distribute appropriately
  • Work with the project team to deliver project finance and status reporting while identifying areas for continuous improvement
  • Draft clear and concise documentation and facilitate review process 
  • Ability to consistently meet project deadlines
  • Technical writing skills with experience working with standard templates and paragraph styles
  • Must have knowledge of accepted industry version control practices and standardization practices
  • Change management skills for managing process and program changes across an organization

Responsibilities

  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and oral  
  • Exposure working with change management teams in a corporate setting and is able to work with client teams to ensure alignment
  • Experience managing team calendars and travel communications
  • Exposure to project management disciplines
  • Data migration experience (Preferred) 
  • Past telecommuting background  (Preferred) 

Additional Information    

  • Full time w/ benefits
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States  
  • Ability to travel on short notice (approximately 25-33% within continental US annually)
  • Telecommute (but must be willing to support any U.S. time zone)
