Overview

The David Kenneth Group is seeking to add a qualified Project Manager to its team of experienced Data Center Migration Professionals.  The person in this role will be responsible for Data Center project planning, development, and implementation.  Project Managers must be able to demonstrate broad experience in both project management and the technologies used in a data center infrastructure to be qualified. The successful candidate will be an exceptionally strong communicator both written and verbally, and will lead multi-discipline, highly technical staff and technical project initiatives. The candidate must be comfortable managing remote project delivery teams, and possess the ability to facilitate technical whiteboard sessions to troubleshoot project implementation issues, and remove barriers to project success.

Responsibilities

  • Project Managers are responsible for understanding the clients’ existing environments, the client’s business drivers, managing schedules, budgets, deliverables, issues/risks, and internal communications.
  • The ideal candidate must be delivery orientated, proactive, and comfortable working in small teams of top-flight personnel. 
  • Communicate effectively, develop strong internal and external working relationships; delegate work as well as work well with a team.
  • Lead and execute complex projects with limited supervision; understand clients overall business objectives and how to position effective solutions to ensure successful implementation of products and technologies.
  • Assist Senior Project Managers with determining data center migration readiness strategy and execution
  • Effectively multitask between different initiatives quickly while maintaining project timelines

Qualifications

  • 10 plus years of hands-on Project Management experience is required; managing complex, large-scale technology or Data Center Infrastructure projects is required.
  • Strong IT infrastructure background and some data center migration knowledge/exposure
  • Demonstrates the ability to lead a team, someone who is easy to communicate with and can build lasting relationships with clients
  • Excellent attention to detail, able to think fast and adapt quickly to change
  • Experience with presenting orals/ pays attention to the needs of the client able to think ahead, carefully plans 
  • Strong delivery background/ has led several migrations in the size and scale comparable to our business would be preferred.
  • Able to demonstrate a high level of fluency / understanding of data center technologies and terminology
  • Ability to manage, track and report on performance to budget and schedule
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact efficiently with the technical team as well as C-level executives
  • Proven accountability and demonstrates a high degree of ownership
  • Mastery of MS Project, Word, Excel, Visio, and SharePoint
  • Ability to work independently
  • Customer focused, with a proven track record of exceeding expectations in project delivery

Preferred Experience

  • PMP Certification
  • Previous experience in leading data center migration readiness projects
  • Understands the migration process from discovery and planning to execution  
  • Previous experience leading a data center migration, transition, or consolidation project.
  • Hands on project management experience in Banking, Healthcare, or Manufacturing industries
  • Previous experience working in a large scale environment (global, fortune 500)
  • Past experience working with top-tier companies such as: IBM, EMC, Cisco, Microsoft, and Google.
  • Recent experience with leading technologies and markets (cloud migrations, software defined networking, etc.)
  • Experience with business development tasks (RFPs, whitepapers, etc.)

 

Additional Information: 

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States 
  • Full time position/w Benefits  
  • Ability to travel as needed with prior notice (approximately 20-30% 1wk/per month average within continental US annually) 
  • Telecommute ( willing to support any U.S. Time Zone)
