The David Kenneth Group is seeking to add a qualified Senior Project Manager to its team of experienced data center migration professionals. The Senior Project Manager role in our company typically has full staffing, business development, and financial responsibility for their specified project. The Data Center Migration Project Manager will handle typical project management duties in addition to supporting the infrastructure design, build, deployment and delivery of Data Center Migration, Consolidation, and Relocation projects.   • The Senior Project Manager will lead highly technical cross functional teams to drive delivery of Data Center Migration, Consolidation, and relocation  projects as well as the implementation and deployment of the completed designs, develop and document requirements, budgets, and project schedules.
  • The Project Manager will be responsible for creating project plans with clearly defined milestones, reporting project status, issues/risks, mitigation plans, and creating operational documentation for deploying and maintaining the client expectations.
  • This person will become an expert in our migration methodology practices, overseeing a data center migration/consolidation strategy guiding our clients throughout execution and delivery of work.
  • Understand the clients’ existing environment and business drivers; create, adapt, and "hybridize" the data center migration processes to fit the unique needs of the client
  • Provide professional advice and services for analyzing, planning, improving, migrating and/or operating data centers for IT managers and business professionals. In addition will provide expertise in understanding a client's business and technical objectives and requirements, positioning effective strategies and solutions, and managing successful delivery of their data center migration, consolidation or transformation projects.
  • Successfully deliver aggressive project deliverables while effectively managing budgets; this person will be responsible for controlling costs, approving expenses and managing client invoicing.   
  • This position requires participating in the coordination, interviewing, mentoring, training, and review of new and existing staff. In addition, participate in other duties as assigned by the Director of Professional Services.


  • 10-15 years of hands-on technical Project Management experience in large-scale technology or Data Center Migration projects.
  • 5 or more years’ experience leading independently, large-scale technology or Data Center Migration projects.
  • Experience in managing large IT Infrastructure projects and data center rollouts is a requirement; experience will include working with data center technologies such as networking, operating systems, servers, virtualization products, and data center automation tools. 
  • Able to create data center migration/consolidation strategies, project and execution plans
  • Ability to create, adapt, and "hybridize" data center migration processes
  • Ability to create and manage migration project run books
  • Customer focused, with a proven track record of exceeding expectations in project delivery
  • Strong client orientation, able to participate in pre-sales and business development tasks as needed such as (RFP/Orals/Whitepapers, etc.)
  • Able to demonstrate a high level of fluency / understanding of data center technologies and terminology
  • Experience in core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk management. Must be well organized and able to work effectively under time pressure.
  • The successful candidate will be an exceptionally strong communicator both written and verbally, and will have lead multi-discipline, highly technical staff and technical project initiatives previously.
  • Exceptional analytical, quantitative, communication, and presentation skills
  • Experience with and deep understanding of multiple project management methodologies
  • The Candidate must be comfortable managing remote technical project delivery teams, and possess the ability to facilitate technical whiteboard sessions to troubleshoot project implementation issues, and remove barriers to project success.
  • The Project Manager will be fully competent in project management tools and techniques for all phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, WORD, Excel, Visio, MS Project, MS SharePoint.
  • A Bachelor's degree is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead others in a technical environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and execute complex projects with limited supervision and direct authority.
  • Proven accountability and demonstrates a high degree of ownership


Preferred Experience:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus
  • Hands on project management experience in Banking, Healthcare, or financial institutions
  • Previous experience working in a large scale enterprise environment (global, fortune 500)
  • Past experience working with top-tier companies such as: Big 5 Consulting, IBM, EMC, Cisco, Microsoft, and Google.
  • Experience with business development tasks (RFPs, whitepapers, etc.)
  • Recent experience with leading technologies / markets (cloud migrations, software defined networking, etc.)
  • Past telecommute experience
  • Past consulting experience

Additional Information:
